Black Samba is the home of Afro-Brazilian music in Israel!

Our goal is to emphasize the sense of togetherness and create a shared musical experience that invites everyone to take part.

Everyone is welcome to our home. Come however you are, from every culture, sector, religion, faith and age. We believe that togetherness is a dive into a shared and joyful musical experience. Carnival is a safe, open, happy, colorful place.

Black Samba brings the authentic music from the carnival of northern Brazil. After graduating from Rimon, our artistic director, Alon, flew to Salvador, Bahia in northern Brazil, to undergo extensive musical training with Ilê Aiyê and Olodum, the fathers of the samba reggae and samba afro styles. Alon imported the rootsy rhythms and met Yael, who began managing the ensemble. Together, the first Afro bloco in Israel (a group of artists specializing in the style) was created.

Black Samba is a way of life of joy, of good vibes. Our lives are not always simple, and Black Samba comes to remind us of the beauty of a shared musical experience. We come to remind us how much fun it is to take part in something great, how much friendship can be woven in a second, in a shared dance, with a smile. We are a tribe, ancient, our art comes from the belly and reaches the heart.

And this is yours, the carnival is for everyone. It is the belief that we are all one tribe, a family. The party is where you are, we and you are one, come with joy!
